Dr. Thomas Harvey, assistant professor of business
administration, is the recipient of the 2006 Ellis Award for
Motivation at Ashland University.
Harvey was selected following a vote taken this
spring by graduating seniors majoring in business
administration or economics. The criterion for selection is
the Dauch College of Business and Economics faculty member who
most motivated these seniors to achievement. The announcement
was made at the annual faculty meeting of the Dauch College of
Business and Economics. A stipend is included from the
interest generated by an endowment.
A faculty member at AU since 1999, Harvey teaches finance
courses and is the adviser to AU’s Eagle Investment Group, a
program which allows business students to manage a portion of
the university’s portfolio.
Harvey holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from
Hillsdale College, a master of business administration degree
from Case Western Reserve University and a doctor of business
administration degree from Cleveland State University.
Ashland University is a private, comprehensive institution
located in north central Ohio between Cleveland and Columbus.
On-campus enrollment is nearly 2,150 undergraduate students
while total enrollment, including graduate and off-campus
centers, is more than 6,500.
