Location

TALMID 2017 will meet on the attractive 135-acre campus of Ashland University, located one hour south of Cleveland, Ohio.  The address for Ashland University is 401 College Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805.

Sessions will convene in the suite of rooms occupying the top floor of Amstutz Hall (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).

Air Travel

Ashland is located approximately one hour from either Cleveland or Columbus Ohio airports.  Since public transportation to Ashland is not conveniently available, a ride-sharing shuttle will be offered for those arriving at Cleveland or Columbus ($45 per vehicle, one-way, cost to be shared by up to three passengers). You will need to reserve your shuttle place in advance by checking the appropriate box on the registration page.  Follow-up communication from workshop staff will ask for your arrival information and cell phone number.

Driving Directions

Coming from the north or south on I-71: From Interstate 71, take exit #186 or U.S. Route 250, Ashland. Off the exit ramp, turn left on Route 250 heading west. Turn left onto Center Street/OH-60/OH-511/OH-58. Turn right onto College Avenue. Ashland University College Avenue Apartments are located immediately on the right, 124 College Avenue.  The workshop will meet in Amstutz Hall (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).

Coming from the east on U.S. Route 30 or U.S. Route 250: When U.S. Routes 30 and 250 split on the west side of Wooster, take U.S. Route 250 west toward Ashland. Turn left to take the US-42 ramp. Turn right onto US-42. Turn left onto OH-511. Turn left to stay on OH-511. Turn left onto Center Street/OH-60/OH-511/OH-58. Turn left onto College Avenue. Ashland University College Avenue Apartments, you will find them immediately on the right, 124 College Avenue.  The workshop will meet in Amstutz Hall (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).

Coming from the west on U.S. Route 30: Take U.S. Route 30 east to U.S. Route 42 north to Ashland. Exit at Claremont Avenue. For Amstutz Hall and the workshop sessions, turn left on Jefferson Street (immediately before pedestrian overpass) and park in Lot E (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).  For the College Avenue Apartments, at the intersection immediately after the pedestrian overpass make a 90-degree right turn onto College Avenue.  The apartments are located on the left, 124 College Avenue.

Coming from the west on the Ohio Turnpike or south on U.S. Route 250: From the Turnpike, exit at gate 7, U.S. Route 250 and travel south on Route 250 about 37 miles to Ashland. Do not take the Route 250 Bypass, continue straight into Ashland. This will become Cottage Street. As you approach the third traffic light, which is Main Street, be sure to stay in the center lane to go down the hill and straight through the intersection. When you cross Main Street, you will now be on Claremont Avenue. Continue south on Claremont Avenue. For Amstutz Hall and the workshop sessions, turn right on Jefferson Street (immediately after pedestrian overpass) and park in Lot E (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).  For the College Avenue Apartments, make a 90-degree left turn onto College Avenue at the intersection immediately before the pedestrian overpass.  The apartments are located on the left, 124 College Avenue.

Coming from the north on State Route 58: Take State Route 58 south toward Ashland. Do not take the Routes 250 and 58 bypass, continue straight into Ashland on Orange Street. Bear left onto Union Street and continue south to the intersection of Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street. Continue through the downtown business district. At the second traffic light turn left on Claremont Avenue. Continue south on Claremont Avenue. For Amstutz Hall and the workshop sessions, turn right on Jefferson Street (immediately after pedestrian overpass) and park in Lot E (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).  For the College Avenue Apartments, make a 90-degree left turn onto College Avenue at the intersection immediately before the pedestrian overpass.  The apartments are located on the left, 124 College Avenue.

Coming from the south on U.S. Route 60: Take U.S. Route 60 north into Ashland. It will become Center Street. Continue on Center Street to College Avenue and turn left. Ashland University College Avenue Apartments are located at 124 College Avenue, immediately on the right.  The workshop will meet in Amstutz Hall (building labeled #24 in this AU Campus map).
