Data on Leaded Jewelry

All of the following samples have been analyzed and found to have components which contain

6.0% or more lead by weight.  Six percent is 100 times the current voluntary standard (0.06%)

for toy jewelry.  Samples range from highest lead content found to lowest.  Numbers reported are

for total lead based on a nitric acid digest.  Accessible lead was determined for some samples using

the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s method for accessible lead.  Where identical items

were analyzed, they are grouped together.  A link to a more detailed description of methods is found

at the bottom of this page.
