Inquiry Seminars

My Inquiry Seminars focus on the general topic of experiential learning with a special interest in the use of the outdoors as an instructional tool. I usually offer one Inquiry per school year, in either the Fall or Spring Semester.

Purpose of the seminar:

To focus upon current research and practice in the area of experiential education, with an emphasis upon environmental/outdoor/place based education. Participants will explore ways to integrate the use of the outdoors as an instructional tool in a variety of content areas and contexts.

Intended Audience:

Teachers from all grade levels are welcome; however, teachers of pre-k through 8th grade, and those teaching in high schools with block schedules, may find the topic of most value. Teachers of all content areas are welcome -- experiential learning is not just for science teaching!

It is expected that participants have a sincere interest in researching the experiential/outdoor education area, and intend to incorporate the results of the inquiry into their instructional repertoire.

If you would like to be notified  when I will be offering the next seminar, please send an email to hbroda@ashland.edu and I will notify you when a date has been set.
